Witch Boot for 3D Challenge at The Paper Cabana

Image

I think this Witch Boot by Snapdragon Snippets is adorable, but it is a bit of a challenge to assemble. I am not the most patient person, and this file requires boatloads! I am happy I stuck with it, the end result was worth it. If you want to tackle this project, I suggest using a little tape over the glued tabs, especially in the toe and curved areas.

Monogram Background Cut

This design is my sample for The Paper Cabana Challenge #4:  Backgrounds.  This was designed to go on a glass block which unfortunately did not arrive in time for the challenge, so plan B was this card.  I used part of the Curve Screen  background by Jennifer Wambach and then welded it to a frame.  I then made the circle frame and welded the letter M inside the frame.  I made an offset of the circle frame to cut out the center of the background and then welded the monogram to the background.  I can’t wait for my glass blocks to get here so I can finish my real project!

Boo Y’All Halloween Teepee Card

Side 1 Boo Y’All

Side 2 If the Shoe Fits

Side 3 Spooky Gate

I have not done a challenge on Splitcoaststampers in a couple of weeks, so I decided to do today’s Ways to Use It Challenge WT393 Fancy Folds. I wanted to make a halloween decoration to send to my daughter and I thought a Teepee Card would be fun. It is a really easy card to make and you get a lot of bang for the buck! I had so much fun decorating the sides and I am so impressed with how well the Gothic Gate freebie from SVGcuts cut even in that small size. I did a bit of slicing and dicing, this month’s challenge on the Silhouette Plus forum, to create the fence on either side of the gate. And look how thin the spooky font is, the Cameo cut it perfectly! I am also submitting my Teepee card to the Out of a Hat Challenge: Halloween.

The Teepee card is really easy to make, cut 3 sheets of 6 x 6 cardstock, score diagonally, then adhere the cardstock back to back to create a tripod. I will post pictures tomorrow, with more detail, but now it’s time for dinner!

While surfing the Internet, I saw a darling baby card that was a mobile. Try as I might, I could not find it when I searches for it, so I decided to try an recreate it. The card I saw featured 4 frames that stood like an X, with several hanging elements. I designed my card so that the frames attached to a card base. For this version, I only used 3 frames, creating a flat front. I created a cut file for the Hanging Elements Card, but I cut this one by hand for a Stampin’ Up! Only challenge.

Apple Bushel Basket

Here is my submission for Challenge #2 at The Paper Cabana.  When I think of fall, I think of the apple orchard we always visited near my grandparents’ home in Central PA.  This Apple Bushel Basket reminds me of the baskets we used to bring the apples home in and is so easy to put together.  It makes a great presentation for a muffin, cupcake or other  sweet treat.   I created the cut file for the Bushel Basket from an old paper template.

I love this Book Box Card! I bought these tie dye hair ties to send to my daughter, but I wanted something a little different to put them in. I posted a request on the Silhouette Plus forum and Adele posted a link to this awesome Book Box Card. I made one of these years ago from a printed template and it was so tedious, I never did it again. With this cut file, it was a breeze and went together beautifully! I can’t wait to do another one!

I saw this cute saying on the Internet, a play on the popular saying Stay Calm and Carry On and thought it would make a cute card to send to my daughter for halloween. I cut the ghost from the Cricut Cartridge Paper Doll Dress Up and the words from Cuttin’ Up.  I  used a marker to outline the face and add the faux stitching.

Rounded Edge Magazine Holder sized for A2 cards

Rounded Edge Magazine Holder A2

One of the members Sandi on the Silhouette Plus Forum was looking for a folio box cut file similar to one she saw in a CTMH ad.  Several years ago, I made several using a template that I found on the internet and modified to fit A2 cards.  I made a cut file for it with my Cricut Design Studio software, which made it so much easier!  I redesigned it in Silhouette Studio and added a curve to match the one in the ad.  For some reason, my software kept freezing up when I tried to add the curve to the top.  Then Kelly from Finding Time to Create posted a file that had the curve at the top, so I merged her curve onto my template and came up with this Magazine Holder for A2 cards.  I then added the flower from the Silhouette Online Store as an accent.  Isn’t it cute, thanks Kelly!

Swing Kids 12 x 12 Layout Done with the Silhouette Cameo

Swing Kids

When my kids were little, we spent our summers in Central PA at the house that had belonged to my grandparents.  It is a 100+ year old farmhouse in a Borough of about 600, so small we used to joke about a population spike when we were in town.  It was quite a change from our suburban life in South Florida and I have many fond memories of those days.  My kids loved being up there, we had a huge yard with 20+ acres beyond that.  We raised chickens, planted a garden and enjoyed the slower pace of life in the country.  One of their favorite things as toddlers was the Little Tykes swing that hung from the large apple tree in our backyard.  I have pictures of both my son and my daughter, born 6 years apart, in the swing being pushed by their daddy on their 2nd birthdays.  In reality, I was the one who spent hours upon hours pushing them in that swing, but of course, I have no pictures of that!  Anyway, I have wanted to scrapbook these pictures for a long time and when I got my Cameo, I decided it was time to tackle this layout.  I created the cut file for the swing in Silhouette Studio, link to download for personal below.  I used grass – tree border by Alaa’ K for the tree, grass by Silhouette, the clouds from hot air balloon by Lori Whitlock, all from the Silhouette Online Store, and Comic Sans for the title.  You can’t tell in the photo, but the swings and the clouds are mounted on Stampin’ Up! Dimensionals.  I am sorry for the pitiful photo, my scanner is not speaking to my laptop, some sort of tiff between the two!

Cut file on this post, Baby Swing.
