I don’t always find time to do the Sunday Featured Stamper Challenge on Splitcoaststampers, but I am glad I had time today, Loll Thompson is this week’s Featured Stampers and she is one of my favorites! She has a fabulous gallery with so many beautiful creations, I had a hard time choosing, finally settling on this gorgeous Garden Trellis card.
I chose to use Kiwi Kiss and Peach Parfait for my color comb. I really love these two colors together, too bad they were never in the Stampin’ Up! product line at the same time, they work so well together, adding a tropical feel. For my card, I cut a frame with the Stampin’ Up! Labels Collection Framelits in Peach Parfait. I cut twenty four 1/4 inch strips of Whisper White and attached them to the frame, gluing all in one direction first, then weaving the strips in the opposite direction. For the background, I embossed a piece of Whisper White with the Tim Holtz Woodgrain Embossing Folder and sponged on a little Going Gray. I mounted the background panel to a Peach Parfait card base and layered a scrap of Stampin’ Up Designer Series Paper. I cut the Whisper White flowers and Kiwi Kiss leaves with Shapeabilities dies and sponged the leaves with Old Olive and the flowers with Peach Parfait and Pumpkin Pie. I used little brads from my stash to attach the flowers. I used a texture cube stamp and River Rock to add a little shading to the lattice and mounted with Stampin’ Up! Dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Fabulous Phrases in Basic Black on Whisper White, punched with a Stampin’ Up! Small Oval Punch and sponged with Peach Parfait. I glued the sentiment, leaves and flowers to the lattice frame, taking care not to flatten it and there you have it!
