Vintage Sail Inspiration Challenge

Standard

It’s Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge Day, my fav!  Today we have a really cool site for inspiration, Vintage Poster Market.  There were so many awesome vintage posters to chose from, but this one sold me!

I really loved the colors, the sailboat image and the clean design, so set about recreating it on a card and this is the results,

Vintage Sail

I masked off the bottom portion of the card with painter’s tape that I have conditioned by sticking to various surfaces to take some of the tackiness away.  I sponged the top with Barely Banana and Yo Yo Yellow.  I cut the mask for the horizon and sponged that with Tangerine tango.  I used Soft Sky, Island Indigo and Whisper White for the water.  I stamped the sailboat on a separate paper, colored, cut out and adhered to the background.

  1. Such a gorgeous card. Love how you created that beautiful background and your sailboat looks just like it’s gliding along that lovely water. Great job on sticking with your inspiration poster.
